Ana Torres Baptista Parreira started her journey with the works of three artists.​
The chosen works are a combination of textile work and sculpture. Although young in their career
Catherine Dewart and Eva Jacobs already portrait a strong and distinct character in their work. In
dialogue the works create a symbiosis while still maintaining their own unique presence.

Catherine Dewart
Catherine Dewart is a visual artist studying sculpture and ceramics at LUCA School of Arts in Ghent.
Her work delves into the essence of materiality, form, and play. Through an intuitive process and the
use of diverse materials, she creates playful shapes and spatial constructions. Her artworks embrace
openness, inviting viewers into a space of curiosity and reflection. They speak not only for
themselves but also engage with the space around them.

Eva Jacobs
Eva Jacobs is a textile artist whose work delves into the intricate processes of memory, identity, and
healing. She uses weaving techniques to sculpt and unravel stories, memories and moments. Her
work invites viewers into a mental landscape where images are formed not through language but
through tactile engagement and emotional resonance. She Intertwines craft with personal narrative,
playing around with art that is both intimate and universally relatable.

De geselecteerde werken zijn een combinatie van textielkunst en sculptuur. Hoewel Catherine
Dewart en Eva Jacobs nog aan de beginschoenen van hun carrière staan, tonen ze in hun werk al
een sterk en onderscheidend karakter. In dialoog creëren de werken een symbiose, terwijl ze toch
hun eigen unieke aanwezigheid behouden.

Catherine Dewart
Catherine Dewart is een beeldend kunstenaar die beeldhouwkunst en keramiek studeert aan LUCA
School of Arts in Gent. Haar werk onderzoekt de essentie van materialiteit, vorm en spel. Via een
intuïtief proces en het gebruik van diverse materialen creëert ze speelse vormen en ruimtelijke
constructies. Haar kunstwerken omarmen openheid en nodigen de toeschouwer uit in een ruimte
van nieuwsgierigheid en reflectie. Ze spreken niet alleen voor zichzelf, maar gaan ook in dialoog
met de ruimte.

Eva Jacobs
Eva Jacobs is een textielkunstenaar, haar werk verdiept zich in de complexe processen van
herinnering, identiteit en heling. Ze gebruikt weeftechnieken om verhalen, herinneringen en
momenten te creëren en te ontrafelen. Haar werk nodigt de toeschouwer uit in een mentaal
landschap waar beelden niet via taal maar via tastbare ervaring en emotionele resonantie worden
gevormd. Ze verweeft ambacht met persoonlijke verhalen en speelt met kunst die zowel intiem als
universeel herkenbaar is.
